In the Beginning

I have always wanted to be good at something. I don't have an amazing talent for music (I play the flute, but lets face it...I'm never gonna be on stage or anything), I sound great singing...in the shower, I'm good with people...until the frustrate me, I can't draw all that well, I don't even LEARN all that well. I've always been pretty good at writing, but I go on long dry spells of not being able to write a single word when I sit down to, and usually when I look back at previous peices I think "what the hell was I doing?". I've always been good with kids. That's probably the thing I am best at...relating to children. People always tell me that takes a "special kind of person." Which every time I hear someone say that, it sounds more like they're saying "Really? you enjoy THAT? Why???" And it is always followed by the routine "I could never do that..." People don't just say it to me, they say it to everyone in different situations, and it's always in an outward-admiration-yet-inward-condescending tone.
So this is what there is about me...as unamazing as I am, I still find I can be interesting so I'll start out with the basics. I was born Katherine Elizabeth S**** (I can't just post things like that on the internet!) on January 18, 1987 to Daneen Anne and Duane Gene. (My parents had some off the wall names to match their off the wall personalities, but we'll get to that later.) I had a 2 1/2 year older sister named Megan Michelle and a mid-size family that always seemed ten times bigger due to their over-large personalities. I was a baldy that was adorable from the start. As soon as I could hold a crayon I was "helping" the pictures in my books and my parents aparent lack of care for color on their walls.
I'll stop here seeing as my free time has run short, but you can bet I'll be back soon with more to my story and hopefully up through the explanation of my name. For now, stay safe. Stay Warm. Stay Laughing. Stay Well.
